History
Cherkasy Institute of Banking of the University of Banking is a specialized educational establishment with more than a 45 years history.
It has its own established traditions and modern material and technical basis for training highly-qualified specialists for financial-credit and banking institutions.
The Institute started its activity in September 1968 as Cherkasy financial technical school of Budbank of the USSR.
In 1987 Cherkasy financial technical school was named Cherkasy financial-economic technical school.
In December 1991 Cherkasy financial-economic technical school was transferred into the subordination of the National Bank of Ukraine
According to the Resolution of the National Bank of Ukraine dated by February 02, 1996 Cherkasy financial-economic technical school got the status of Banking College.
According to the Resolution of the Board of the National Bank of Ukraine from June 21, 2000 (Order № 86 of the NBU dated by August 10, 2000) Cherkasy Banking College was reorganized into Cherkasy branch of the Ukrainian Academy of Banking of the National Bank of Ukraine.
According to the Resolution of the Board of the National Bank of Ukraine dated by July 14, 2006, the educational institution was named Cherkasy Institute of Banking and included in the structure of the University of Banking of the National Bank of Ukraine (Kyiv).
